This article covers all the dimensions and measurements of the NV200 which might be a useful reference to other people who, like myself, are converting a Nissan NV200 into a small camper van.

One of the main reasons I purchased an NV200 is that it is small, quite narrow compared to other small panel vans and surprisingly compact.

I’ve been so impressed with both its driving performance over the year that I’ve owned it, as well as its adaptability for a van conversion, and can’t recommend it highly enough to others. For my purposes, it is the perfect van for day-to-day driving, holidays, weekends away and surf trips.

About my Nissan NV200

My NV200 is a 2015 Acenta model. All the dimensions in this video are based on my van, so it’s worth bearing in mind that I don’t have any back seats and I have also removed the metal bulkhead so that I can fit a surfboard through the middle gap between the front seats.

To the best of my knowledge, all Nissan NV200s from 2010 onwards are the same dimensions, other than the fact that some have seats in the back, so may not have as much storage room as my empty van.

Please note that all measurements are approximate and I have done work to my van which might mean these dimensions are slightly different to another NV200.

So let’s get started with the outside…

Van length

The Nissan NV200 is 440cm (173.2in) long from bumper to bumper.

Front width

The width of the van at the front is 169.5cm (66.7in) excluding wing mirrors, or 201.1cm (79.2in) wide including the wing mirrors. 

Van height

The height of the NV200 , without roof bars or a pop-top, is 186cm (73.2in).

Height with roof bars

The roof bars add an additional 10 centimetres to the total height, without a load on top of them.

The roof bars I have installed are Thule bars, made up of the 3085 fitting kit, the 753 feet set, and the 969 wing bars, which are 127cm (50in) long.

The sliding side doors 

When closed the sliding side doors are 98.5cm (38.8in) at their widest point and 145cm (57.1in) in height.

When opened, the doorways are 73cm (28.7in) wide and 119cm (46.9) high.

The back doors

When closed, the back doors are 140cm (55.1in) high and 146cm (57.5in) wide.

This creates an open doorway of 129cm (50.8in) high and 126cm (49.6in) wide.

Large and small back barn doors

The large back door is 87cm (34.2in) high and the small back door is 58cm (22.8in) wide.

The wheelbase

Being a short van the wheelbase, or the distance between the centre of the front and back wheels, measures in at 272.5cm (107.3in).

Floor height

The distance from the ground outside up to the van floor 46cm (18.1in).

Now onto the interior of the NV200:

Floor to ceiling height

The NV200 has an interior height 135.8cm (53.5in) from floor to ceiling at its highest point. This is enough room to sit down in, but not to stand up in.

NV200 interior width

The width of the van at its widest part is 150cm (59in) however between the wheel arches, the van has 122cm (48in) of width.

Wheel arch height

The wheel arches themselves are approximately 25cm (9.8in) (picture below incorrect) high with a floor in the van. This can vary depending on how thick the floor, subfloor, insulation and van carpet are.

NV200 inside length

The interior length of the van, from the back doors to the front seats is 204cm (80.3in) however with the bulkhead removed, like my van, it allows an object of 290cm (35.4in) in length to fit between the front seats without resting on the dashboard. My surfboard (pictured below) is 9′ 5″ and there is approximately a couple of inches more room.

Gap between seats 

The gap between the front seats is 27cm (10.6in) and the gap between the front passenger seat and the handbrake is 20cm (7.9in).

Entire interior length

The length from the windscreen to the rear doors at a diagonal is approximately 340cm (133.8in).

Van weight

Finally, the weight of the van unloaded is around 1200kg and it can carry a weight of up to 795kg.
