Van conversions lighting options

When deciding how to illuminate the interior a van, there are quite a few options. I could wire some in – though from my previous post you’ll see that I’m not putting a leisure battery in the van. Alternatively, I could use some USB lights and have them plugged into my portable battery pack.

In the end, I went with the simplest lights of all…

I actually installed these quite early on in the van build. I needed easy-to-install, effective lighting which was battery powered, and so I bought a pack of 6 battery powered LED spot lights.

I installed 4 out of the 6 in the van and these each get their power from AAA batteries. They push to turn on and off but also come with 2 remote controls for turning them all on or off at once, as well as adjusting their brightness and setting a timer for when they turn off.

Despite it being a very basic method for illuminating the inside of my van, they’ve been really effective. If I had to change something it would be to get LEDs with a slightly warmer light.

I intend to keep these in the van for the time being, but now that I have a battery for the van, I can look into other ways to light my van and not have to worry about recharging batteries, though they do last a very long time between charges.
